This project involved transforming an existing bungalow into a beautiful new country house. The process required raising the existing bungalow by almost a meter and changing the garden levels around it and creating a pond. The design cleverly used the existing roof space and along with the extensions which included a basement, resulted in an unusual but fabulous family home.

Reclaimed bricks were used in the construction along with recycled earthwool insulation. Together with this a heat recovery system was used to create a comfortable environmentally friendly home. Further to the owners wish to recycle and upcycle as much as possible, the pond harvests the rain water off the roof and provides a home to a vast array of wildlife.
